Como era de esperarse la final del Fútbol Mexicano fue muy emocionante. Entre los dos partidos de ida y vuelta se anotaron 10 en total. En el partido de ida todo comenzó en el primer tiempo al minuto 3. En un centro venenoso de los rayados, Villa de la maquina, no pudo conectar bien para rechazar y el balón termino desviándose hacia el fondo de la red en su propia portería. Pero el Cruz Azul no bajo los brazos y a base de garra y buen fútbol pudo darle la vuelta al marcador para así tomar ventaja de 3-1 antes de finalizar el primer tiempo
